BODY TALK : Understanding Your Body's Signals
Food Cravings

Do you have a constant urge for a certain kind of food? Somehow you just can't stop eating (or drinking ) lots of chocolate, sweets, sodas, coffee, hamburgers? Often, when we lack certain nutrients, our bodies send us signals in the form of food cravings. Food cravings are a sign of 'cellular hunger' for nutrients. However, many people supplement these cravings with the wrong foods. Satisfying a craving with your favourite food once in awhile is ok (if it is not toxic to your body!) but you should regulate your diet to include foods that provide the necessary nutrients.
The following table below shows some common food cravings people experience due to nutritional deficiencies and the appropriate foods required.
( Note: A consistent urge for sugary foods can be the result of parasitic infections such as candida that thrive on sweet foods).
